Called molecules
Which bond their hands into particles
Making practical visible
Matter which splatters
In random patterns.
From these chains came
Animate organic carbon
Harnessing oxygen
As fuel to fire its spiraling rise
From unicellular ignorance
To modern hominid pre-eminence
So certain
The chains can be broken.
