On The Way To Whitman's Grave

On the Way to Whitman's Grave

To pay my respects
with roses & gladiolas,
I got sidetracked & drunk
with a Long Island transplant
named Lucy in a bar
called Walt's Place.
Felt up & lied to.

She left with another guy
but I stayed 'til closing time.
