  A Matter of Gravity

Laurence Loeb

A visit to the planetarium shrinks me to size. Staring down at the big bang, a millisecond the equivalent of millions of cosmic years. Walking down a spiral ramp to present time, while a lama spins a prayer wheel in the direction of cosmic flow.  Planets hug closer to their source as he stops, attentive to a translator, whose explanation is lost in ambient sound. I will never come around from that loss.
